My name is Marcus Ellison and I am running for school board because of my passion for education and my desire to strengthen our local school district. I believe South Bend’s future rests on ensuring every child has access to the high-quality education they deserve. I want to be your voice on the board.

My roots run deep in this community. I am a proud father, husband, and a South Bend native with a family history of civic engagement and commitment to education. I graduated from John Adams High School (‘94). My daughter, Amanda, also graduated from Adams (‘17). Both my parents, Carl Ellison and Rosalind Ellis, are proud alumni of South Bend Central High School (‘69 & ‘70).

An effective school board is diverse in thought, experience, and background, which often leads to the best ideas; however, there needs to be a sense of unification among board colleagues. I am committed to collaborating with board members to encourage positive change.
